Wack"e \ Wacky \ Wack"y\, n. [G. wacke, MHG. wacke a large stone, OHG. waggo a pebble.] (Geol.) A soft, earthy, dark-colored rock or clay derived from the alteration of basalt.

wacke was written for the Rythymscape Percussion Composition Competition in 2004 which it subsequently won. It has been performed many times by Karak Percussion to whom it is dedicated.
